Summer Prayer

Written by Sharon Krause | Jul 29, 2024 10:00:00 AM

Summer is upon us, Lord, and we ask you for your protection in our daily life activities.

Under the hot sun, we ask that you give us wisdom, common sense, and cooling resources.

Merciful Lord, help us to remember to stay hydrated and to avoid overdoing activity, exposure to sunburn, and heat exhaustion.

Make us aware of your presence in the beautiful gifts of the season, like the picturesque cloud formations, the fresh vegetation, and the wildlife.

Even small blessings are opportunities to come closer to our Creator. We acknowledge our dependence upon you and appreciate your great artistry.

Resurrected Lord, as we see the summer progress, show us ways to rise to new heights of gratitude for the season’s offerings and possibilities.

Thank you for seasonal fruits and vegetables, for vacations, swimming pools, resorts and beaches and lifeguards and for other recreational outdoor activities.

Instill in us the desire to share warm smiles, protective and solicitous aid to any needy brothers and sisters in Christ.

Move us to use our free time to expand and develop the talents you have given us so we can grow in your image to improve and maintain our beautiful world.

Eternal Savior, we praise you, we love you, and we confidently ask you for new ideas and solutions to any climate challenges we experience now and in the future. Amen.
