Holy_Trinity

Lord our God,
thank you for bringing us
into the love relationship
that exists in your being from all eternity.
We humbly offer you ourselves in return,
and ask that you use us as you will
in the work set before us.
As you embrace us in solidarity,
help us to embrace those around us
who are alone and in need
of your living presence.
We offer this prayer,
in the name of the Father,
and of the Son
and of the Holy Spirit
Amen.

Most Holy Spirit,
you were present with the Father and the Son
when all of creation was called into being.
Your moving presence
took a small group of people
and made it into a new communion
that is your Church.
Make us worthy of your constant presence.
Divine Advocate,
direct my actions as an individual
and as a member of your Church
so that all I do
will reflect to the world
your love and presence of God.
Amen.

Lord Jesus, Redeemer and Lord,
help us to be your presence in the world.
May our hearts beat with yours,
our hands reach out with your love,
our feet move us more toward your compassion.
Transform our eyes that we may truly see,
our ears that we may truly listen,
our mouths that we may learn to speak of your love.
May we grow more and more in your likeness
as we desire your love to be made visible in our lives.
Amen.

Faithful God,
you have given us yourself
in word and in sacrament
so that we may see you
with eyes of faith.
As I live out my days
help me to be an authentic reflection
of your presence within us.
Thank you for choosing to dwell
within and among us.
Grant me the courage and passion
to be a bearer of your peace
in a turbulent world.
In Jesus’ name I pray.
Amen.

Lord our God,
it is your love that sustains us,
binds us to one another,
and calls us out into the world.
Stretch us to move beyond
our own limitations,
so that in all our actions
your love will be present
to bring about forgiveness, healing, and justice.
With grateful hearts,
we thank you
for your amazing love.
In Jesus’ name we pray.

Loving Father, with a grateful heart,
I acknowledge the gift of your Son,
our Shepherd.
Help me learn to recognize his voice
when it is spoken to me every day,
but especially when I am vulnerable
and need protection and strength.
Give me the heart of a Good Shepherd,
that I, too, will care for those
who are vulnerable, anxious, lonely.
Help me to recognize myself in them
and to reach out to them in times of need.
I pray in union with the Holy Spirit,
through Christ our Lord.
Amen.

Generous God,
thank you for the home I have
and for the food on my table.
You alone know the hungers I bear
and how they can best be satisfied.
As I look to you for my nourishment
open my eyes to the hungers around me
and with the Spirit of Jesus,
give me the voice to call out the invitation,
“Come and eat!”
Amen.

Gracious God and Father,
the human heart is often slow to grasp
the impact of the Resurrection on all creation
and on our own lives as well.
When I doubt, give me the comfort of your peace.
Strengthen me for the challenge
and the blessing of bearing your image.
Fill me with compassion and forgiveness
so that I reflect your image more clearly.
Help me to be a sign of Jesus’ resurrected life
in my home, my parish, and my community.
With a full heart, and in Jesus’ name,
I offer you praise and thanksgiving
for the amazing love you pour out on us.
Amen.

Risen Lord,
may the miracle of your resurrection,
through which you overcame for humanity
the consequences of both sin and death,
always be for me a source of amazement and joy,
and may I never waver in my gratitude
for your gift of eternal life.
Amen.

Suffering God,
open our hearts to the many abuses
of human life, liberty, and dignity.
We believe that in each person is found the Creator’s image
and that everyone who tramples it offends God.
As holy defender of God’s rights and of his images,
the Church is called to cry out.
It endures as spittle in its face,
as lashes on its back,
as the cross in its passion,
all that human beings suffer, even unbelievers.
Whoever tortures a human being,
whoever outrages a human being,
abuses God’s image.
The Church takes as its own that cross, that martyrdom.
Give us the courage to accompany those who suffer, speak truth,
and fight injustice in the name of Jesus, the suffering Messiah.
Amen.

The Violence of Love]

My Lord and my God,
you who are slow to anger and
abounding in kindness and compassion,
pour forth your mercy upon me.
Help me to drop the stones of
self-righteous judgment,
and the stones of retribution.
Let me always look with compassion and empathy
on the actions of others.
May I always leave judgment to you.
May I learn to choose forgiveness and love.
Thank you for quietly inviting me
to drop the stones I cling to.
Give me the grace to be held in your abundant love
so I may unclench my fists and be free.
Amen.

Merciful and Waiting Father,
we thank you for your extravagant and reckless love for us.
You are patient with our wanderings,
understanding of our lapses of fidelity,
and desirous of our return.
Give us the graces we need
to reach out to those who are alienated
from our families, our church and from you.
Teach us to be as welcoming and accepting of others
as we are always welcomed by you.
We pray this trusting in your love for us,
in the name of Jesus, the compassion of God
and through the power of the Holy Spirit.
Amen.

Lord, thank you for your great mercy
and the urgency of your call to live as your disciple.
Thank you because, even when I mess up,
you give me another chance.
Help me to bring the good news of your love to others
so that they, too, may turn back to your love.
Give me the courage to shake off my complacency
and choose this Lent to live more fully in your love and grace.
I pray this knowing that you desire the fullness of life for all.
Amen.

Loving God,
we put our trust in your abiding presence in our lives.
Strengthen our faith in times of adversity and suffering.
Give us a new awareness of God moments
in our everyday lives,
and help us gain
from these experiences
a deepened desire to follow your will and way.
Give us the grace to share with others
how you are working in our lives.
We ask this in the name of Jesus, the risen Lord.
Amen.

God of mercy and compassion,
forgive me for the times I fall into temptation,
release and free me from the trap of sin.
Give me the grace to be a more aware
and self-reflective person,
a person who takes responsibility
for my actions and emotions
and does not project those painful emotions on others.
Help me to let go of the false gods that I cling to and
give me a deep trust in your desire
to fill the needs of my heart.
I ask this in the name of God who is a loving Father,
in Jesus, the compassion of God,
and through the Holy Spirit,
the One who makes all things new.
Amen.
